Activity: Developing a Collaborative Relationship with EGCTI — Escuela Graduada de Ciencias y Tecnologías de la Información (UPR-Río Piedras, Puerto Rico)
Our collaboration began in January 2016 by finding commonalities in projects developed by Dr. Joel Blanco of EGCTI and the Diaspora Project, particularly in the area of Digital Humanities. Since then, we have developed collaborative projects, such as a preparing a manual for creating metadata for the Digital Community Archive of Culebra, developed by EGCTI students led by Dr. Blanco, along with providing joint academic mentorship opportunities and practical field experience (generating metadata and cataloging materials) for EGCTI graduate students completing their capstone projects in the field of community archives.
