The University of Puerto Rico — Río Piedras Campus received a $40,000 Level 1 planning grant in 2017 from the Office for Digital Humanities at the National Endowment for the Humanities for the project Caribbean Diaspora: Panorama of Caribbean Carnivals Project. The Phase 1 project aimed to explore how migration through the exploration of Carnival can be digitally shared with a broader audience, particularly those of the Caribbean and its diasporas.
